Steven S. Nichols, 60, died at his sister Kathy’s home March 9, 2013, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was born in Rockford, Ill., in 1952.
He had been a counselor for 22 years at Westosha Central High School, and wanted to return to work, but fate didn’t turn his way.
He was active in local and state N.E.A.
Survivors include his daughter, Leiloni; siblings, Daniel, Karl, Christine and Kathy.
He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy, and parents Daniel and Ethel.
A celebration of life is Saturday, March 30, from 4-8 p.m., with service at 6 p.m., at the CATHE Center, 125 E. State St., Burlington. Conducting the service is Venerable Bhikkuni Vimala. Refreshments will follow. Northern Colorado Crematory served the family.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.
