Violet I. Klinzing, 86, died Feb 23, 2013, at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee.
Vi was born on July 16, 1926, to the late Oscar and Anna Roos, in Gordon, and spent her early life there. After graduating high school, she continued her education and graduated from Nurses Training in Duluth, Minn., in 1948. It was while in Duluth that she met and then married Eugene Klinzing in 1948. They were happily married for 40 years until Eugene’s death in 1988.
She worked at many hospitals and retired as a Registered Nurse from the VA Hospital in Milwaukee. She was a member of St. Clare Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Daughters of Isabella, Kulchar Fohr Post 8343 Auxiliary, Wind Lake and Waterford Seniors.
Survivors include her children, Shirley (Charles) Wilkenson, Michael (Judith) Klinzing, Douglas (Debbie) Klinzing, Karen Nusser, Eugene Klinzing Jr., Anthony Klinzing, Kenneth (Elizabeth) Klinzing; 20 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was further preceded in death by her infant daughter, Louise; sisters, Virginia and Darlene; and brother, Richard “Dick.”
A memorial gathering is Saturday, March 16, at St. Clare Catholic Church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., with a funeral Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Gene Doda Jr. will officiate. Mealy Funeral Home, Waterford, is serving the family.
In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, the family suggests memorials to Kulchar Fohr VFW Post 8343 Auxiliary.
