GLENN I. VOGE

Easter Lily      Glenn Irving Voge, 81, Union Grove, died peacefully at his residence on Aug. 13, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Ives Grove on Oct. 20, 1932, to the late Leslie and Ruth (Higgins) Voge.

He had been employed by Western Publishing for over 38 years until he retired. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Union Grove and the Lithographers Union Local 254 Graphic Arts International.

On June 7, 1951, he married the love of his life, Jeanette Augusta Brown. She preceded him in death on Sept. 16, 2013. They enjoyed traveling and for many years wintered in Arizona. They enjoyed various card clubs, Trivial Pursuit, and were well known for their hospitality entertaining family and friends. Glenn was “ a man of the earth,” gardening and farming. He was a longtime 4-H leader.

Survivors include his children, Steven (Ann) Voge, Mary (Ed) Adams, and Daniel (Diane) Voge; 16 devoted grandchildren, Hannah (Jacob) Sampe, Justina (Allan) Bush, Amanda (Marty) Welbon, Evan Bratz, Samuel Bratz, Joshua (Sarah) Jamison, Dawn (Rick) Hope, Andrew Glenn (Amy) Voge, Danielle Elizabeth Voge, Kevin Daniel (Tiffany) Voge, Emma Ann Voge, Abigail Augusta Voge, Nathaniel Willis Voge, Olivia Elizabeth Voge, Lila Marie Voge, and Kate Marie Voge; 13 beautiful great-grandchildren; brother, Karl (Kathy) Voge; sisters, Viola Bertelson, Joanne (Rudy) Topolovec, Mardell (Wayne) Fuller, and Rita (Gerald) Molitor; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Doreen (Ray) Drabek, and Judith Ryder; nieces; nephews; other relatives and a host of friends.

He was further preceded in death by his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Eugene Bratz; his grandson, Joseph Glenn Jamison; brother, Leslie Gordon Voge; Jeanette’s parents, Harry John Louis Brown and Dorothy Martha (Jung) Brown; brothers in-law, Don Bertelson and Don Bauer.

A memorial service celebrating Glenn’s life is Saturday, Aug. 16, at noon, in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Union Grove (Hwy. 45 and 58th Road), with the Rev. David G. Peters officiating. Visitation is in the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. The family has suggested memorials to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, Racine, is serving the family.
