Leola L. Fitzpatrick, 85, Burlington, died Aug. 5, 2014, at her home.
She was born in Ogallala, Neb., on March 15, 1929, to the late Leo and Ellen (McQueen) Willey. She spent her early life in Kansas graduating from Los Angeles High School.
On Feb. 8, 1947, she married William Peter Fitzpatrick at NAS North Island in Coronado, Calif. Following marriage they traveled throughout the states with Bill’s military career in the Navy before settling in Burlington in 1967. He preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 2006.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Waterford. Her passion in life was raising her children and spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Murial (Brian) Strickler, Burlington, Karen Fischbach, Mauston, Susan Winters, Burlington, Dennis (Karen) Fitzpatrick, Burlington, Robin (Pat) Cardi, Prospect Heights, Ill., William (Vicki) Fitzpatrick Jr., Brookfield, Brenda (Paul) Neira, Mukwonago; grandchildren, Tracie (Mark) Bigelow, Terrie Strickler, Toni Strickler, James (Chassidy) Fischbach II, Jamie Fischbach (Scott Ehleiter), Starlene (Cheng) Chang, Dan Winters, Eric Fitzpatrick, Nicole (Chong) Yi, Amanda Cardi (Sergio Delgado), William Fitzpatrick III and Peyton Fitzpatrick; great-grandchildren, Taylor (Adam) McConley, Hunter Phillips, Ean Bigelow, Chris Bigelow, Claire Fischbach, Evan Ehleiter, Landon Chang; great-great-grandchildren, Kayden McConley and Lacey McConley.
She was further preceded in death by her grandson, Jason (Greendeer) Fitzpatrick; son-in-law, James Fischbach Sr.; brother, Richard Willey.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Aug. 8, at 11 a.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Waterford, with the Rev. Gene Doda officiating. Visitation will be at the Church on Aug. 8, from 9-10:45 a.m. Burial in St. Charles Cemetery will take place at a later date. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington, is serving the family.
