REV. JOSEPH L. BARAN

Easter Lily      The Rev. Joseph L. Baran, 92, was born to eternal life on May 20, 2014.

He was ordained on June 7, 1947, by the Most Reverend Moses Kiley at the Cathedral of St. John The Evangelist. Fr. Baran began his priestly ministry as a curate at Holy Family Parish, Cudahy, St. Joseph Parish, West Allis, and then St. Stanislaus Parish, Racine. Fr. Baran served as Pastor at St. Wenceslaus, Ripon and St. Clare, Wind Lake. He retired from active ministry on Jan.12, 1996.

Survivors include nieces and nephews, Camille (Ronald) Labinski, James, Donald (Patricia), Gerald (Sue) Loeffler and Albert (Karen) Koltunski; other relatives; friends; and former parishioners.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Matilda Baran; sisters, Gertrude Loeffler, Elynor Baran and Alice Koltunski; niece, Cecile Vazquez; nephews, Rupert Jr., Lawrence, Kenneth and Mathew.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., on Wednesday, May 28, at St. Joseph Church, 12130 W. Center St., Wauwatosa. Visitation precedes Mass starting at 10 a.m. Private Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Becker Ritter Funeral Home, Brookfield, is handling arrangements.

Memorials in Fr. Baran’s memory maybe given to any Catholic charity.
