Viola M. Ranker, 77, Burlington, died July 16, 2014, at the AVNA Zilber Family Hospice. She was born Oct. 16, 1936, to the late Clarence and Bertha (Wicherts) Paschal in Coletta, Ill. Her early life was spent in Savanna, Ill.
On June 29, 1968, she married Kenneth W. Ranker in Burlington. Following marriage they resided in Burlington. She had been employed by Lavelle Rubber for over 35 years. She enjoyed nature, growing flowers and vegetables, feeding and watching the birds.
Survivors include her husband; son, Michael (JoAnn) Wiemer; step- grandson, Timothy Dubinsky; son, Douglas (Dianne) Wiemer, their children Kyle and Troy Wiemer; step-grandson Eric Fitzpatrick; stepdaughter, Patricia (Douglas) Bessette and their children, Nathan, Ryan and Tyler Bessette; stepdaughter, Pamela Basler, her children Eric, Danny and Angie Basler; five step-great-grandchildren; siblings, Earl Burmister and Ruth Carey; in-laws, Fredrick Ranker and Alice Keyes; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was further preceded in death by her brother, Jack Paschal; brothers–in-law, Glen, Edward and Warren Ranker.
In lieu of flowers the family has suggested memorials in Viola’s name be made to The Zilber Family Hospice, 1155 Honey Creek Parkway, Wauwatosa, WI 53213 or directly to the family to be forwarded to the Zilber House.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you the nurses and staff at the Zilber House and the Burlington VNA for their care and compassion.
