Joyce Anderson Walsh, 77, East Troy, died Jan. 1, 2015. She was born in Essex, Iowa, to the late Anton and Ruby Anderson. She was the youngest of three children raised on a farm. She graduated from Essex High School in 1955 and attended nursing school at Immanuel Lutheran in Omaha, Neb., graduating in 1958. While there, she met her husband of 52 years, John Walsh. She worked as a nurse and raised five kids, retiring from Burlington Memorial Hospital in 1997.
She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her five children; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her sister.
She was preceded in death by her husband and brother.
The family would like to thank the caregivers of Allay Home and Hospice for their care and assistance as well as to the staff at East Troy Manor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice or charity of your choice.
Memorial services are Friday, Jan. 9, at 11 a.m., at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 1975 Beulah Ave., East Troy. Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral and Cremation Services, Mukwonago, is serving the family.
