Lynn A. Johnston, 59, of Waterford, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at her home.
Lynn was born Aug. 9, 1957, in Oakland, Calif. She was the daughter of Derald and Evelyn (nee Okray) Garrity. She spent her early years in Burlington where she graduated from Burlington High School. In 1979, she was united in marriage to Paul C. Johnston. They made their home in Burlington where they raised their family. Paul preceded her in death in 1987.
She enjoyed gardening, music and going to rummage sales and searching for antiques. She liked going to movies, being outdoors and loved going to live music events. Her greatest pleasure came from spending time with her grandchildren.
Lynn is survived by her mother, Evelyn; children, Jamie (Shuree) Johnson, Josh (Julia) Johnson and Michael (Kalah) Johnston; grandchildren, Logan Johnson, Aliyah Johnson and Freya Johnson. She is also survived by her siblings, James Garrity, Steven (Corinne Snopek) Garrity and Teri (Brian) Semm. She was preceded in death by her father, Derald; brother, Daniel Garrity; grandparents, James and Mildred Garrity, and Leonard and Bertha Okray, and aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorials to the family would be appreciated.
Mass of Christian Burial for Lynn will be held on Thursday, June 8, at 1 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 8 from noon to 12:45 p.m. in Good Shepherd Chapel.
