Lyal Edward Dorrington, 91, of Baraboo, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at Sauk County Health Care Center in Reedsburg.
Lyal was born on Aug. 4, 1927, in Park Falls to Joseph and Anna (Poyer) Dorrington. He was married to Betty Berens for over 69 years.
Lyal was a semi-truck driver for many years and earned the million-mile, 25,000 hours, safety drivers award from the National Safety Council. After retirement, he continued to drive semi part-time in Madison. In addition, Lyal became ranger at the Wilderness and Cold Water Canyon Golf Course where he took-up golf and fell in love with it.
Lyal is survived by his wife, Betty; two daughters, Judy (Mark) Scowden and Julie Dorrington, both of Baraboo; two sons, Rick (Erica) Dorrington of Lyndon Station and Scott Dorrington of Baraboo; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Lyal was preceded in death by four siblings.
Per Lyal’s wishes there will be no services.
