Vaclav Vesely, 74, of Lyons, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2020 at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee.
Vaclav was born in Rudna, Czechoslovakia on Aug. 25, 1945 to Vaclav and Anna (nee Snaidrova) Vesely. His early life was spent in Rudna, Prague. On May 29, 1976 in Chicago, he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Seufert. Following marriage, they made Chicago their home. In August of 1990, he and his family relocated to Lyons. Vaclav worked as a quality control engineer.
Before coming to the United States, Vaclav sought political asylum in Bern, Switzerland, where he ended up working for several years. He loved the United States, its freedom and its politics. He just loved talking to people about how he was in the military…but for the other side. He served as a border guard for the CSSR Army, with his faithful Czech Wolf dog companion, Baron.
Vaclav is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; daughters, Julianne Vesely and Danielle (Marcelle) May; nephew, Jirka Vesely; and sister-in-law, Barbara Seufert. He is further survived by his faithful and fuzzy companions, Charlie, Angel, Molly, Honey and Rusty. Vaclav was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dr. Jiři (Irena) Vesely.
Vaclav will be missed by his friends from all over the world. He fought hard for more time to stay with his family and his fuzzies.
A celebration of Vaclav’s life will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2020 from 1 until 5 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Parish Center in Lyons.
