Betty J. Bauman, 90, of Burlington, passed away Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021 at Oak Park Place.
Betty was born in East Troy on June 24, 1931, to George and Pearl (nee Schultz) Riek. Her early life was spent in East Troy, where she graduated from area schools. On Feb. 25, 1950, she was united in marriage to Roland Bauman. Following marriage, they made Burlington their home. Roland preceded her in death on Nov. 16, 2012.
Betty was a secretary at Burlington High School for over 20 years. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Burlington and the Red Hats Society. She enjoyed walking all over town and playing cards, Bingo, Farkle and Bunco. She also liked cooking and baking and loved spending time with her family.
Betty is survived by her children, Georgiana (James) Schuch, Gregory (Kathy) Bauman, Charles (Pamela) Bauman, Tracy (Gregory) Pioppi, John (Kim) Bauman and Todd (Gaye) Bauman; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and siblings, Louise, Joyce and Butch. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Doris, Jeanette and Esther; and brothers, Gordy, Ed, Terry, Robert and Willy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church of Burlington.
Services for Betty will be held Monday, Sept. 13, 2021 at 1 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Burlington. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at the church from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. A private burial will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.
