Bruce L. Newbury, 57, of Oak Park, Ill., passed away on November 9, 2021 at Rush Hospital in Oak Park.
Bruce was born on Feb. 15, 1964 in Burlington to Brian and Barbara Newbury, and spent his childhood years in the community. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School, followed by a BA Degree in Business Management and Recreation from the University of Wisconsin- LaCrosse. He continued his education to earn a Masters Degree in Marketing. His business career was spent mostly in the Trade Show Exhibition Industry, allowing him the enjoyment of worldwide travel.
Bruce was active as a Board Member of Aspire-Chicago and a Member of OPRF Booster Club. He enjoyed coaching T-Ball, softball and loved watching his children play sports. Listening to music was also a passion.
A Celebration of Life was held in Oak Park to honor Bruce, and an additional celebration will be held next spring in Burlington. At that time, Bruce’s ashes will be buried in the Newbury plot, at the Burlington Cemetery, where three generations of the family rest.
Bruce is survived by daughters Izzy, and Jessica; son Benjamin; mother Barbara Grove; brothers Brad and Bob (Karin); niece Emily, nephew Ryan, special friend Susie Beyer, and best friend David Knight.
