Carol Jean Baas, 75, of Waterford, passed away with her loving family by her side July 15, 2021.
Carol was born to Frank and Cecilia (nee Ostrowski) Pitrowski on Dec. 11, 1945, in Milwaukee. She was raised and educated in the Milwaukee area and graduated from Pulaski High School.
Carol enjoyed working as a waitress at Rich’s Tip Top Restaurant and would eventually go on a blind date on New Year’s Eve with Michael Baas. Carol and Mike married on May 25, 1965, in Waukegan, Ill. While raising her family, Carol worked at Schad’s Restaurant in Wind Lake. She loved to take care of her family along with gardening, canning and crafting, for which she won many ribbons at the Racine County Fair. She loved taking care of her four-legged friends all her life and was a member of the National Wildlife Association and several Animal Rescue Organizations. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Carol is survived by Mike, her loving husband of 56 years: children, Chris (James) Loos, Gene (Bekki) Baas and Chuck Baas: and grandchildren, William, Kayla and Michael.
She was preceded in death by many family members and friends.
A visitation will take place on July 22, 2021, from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. with a service starting at 11 a.m. at Norway Lutheran Church, 6321 Heg Park Rd., Wind Lake. Burial will follow at the Norway Hill Cemetery. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, the family suggests memorials to Lakeland Animal Shelter.
The family would like to thank the staff at Linden Grove in Mukwonago for the wonderful care of Carol in her time of need.
