Elizabeth “Betty” Lee Pestka, 90, passed away Oct. 9, 2021 at Oak Park Place Assisted Living Facility.
Betty was born June 22, 1931 in Illinois to Charles and Jenney (nee Doherty) Moos. She grew up in Bristol and graduated from the Agricultural School in Rochester. Her first husband was Henry Voelkering and he blessed her with five children.
Betty was a hardworking and sweet soul and had a gift for caring for others. She was a CNA for roughly ten years, but her favorite and most important job was being a homemaker and taking care of her children. On May 19,1973 Betty married the love of her life Ed Pestka and they shared 41 beautiful years together before Ed passed in 2014.
Betty will be dearly missed by her loving children Sharon (Larry) Freitag, Butch (Pam) Voelkering, Kathy (Doug) Paddock, and Lorie (Toby) Hall; her stepchildren Sue (Gary) Norris, Joanie (Rick) Vanderhoff, and Patsy Hendricks; her many adoring grandkids including 19 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren; as well as her sisters in-law Jeanette Moss and Donna (Kenny) Moeser.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Jenney; husband Ed; her son Charles Voelkering; her stepson John Pestka; and her brother Chuck Moos.
Betty will be laid to rest at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery, 4300 Green Bay Rd, Kenosha, on Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021, at 11 a.m.
