Evelyn J. Peterson, 82, of Lake Park, Ga., passed away Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021 at South Georgia Medical Center.
Evelyn was born in Aberdeen, Scotland on Jan. 12, 1939, to William and Jane (nee Forsyth) Hoy. Her early life was spent in Edinburgh, Scotland, where she attended area schools. On June 13, 1964 in Rochester, she was united in marriage to Earle Peterson. Following marriage, they resided in East Troy. Earle preceded her in death on May 24, 2010.
Evelyn was a hatchery worker for Maple Leaf Farms. She enjoyed watching WWE Wrestling, Nascar, golf and soap operas. She was also a huge Packer fan. She liked to read Harlequin Romances and loved Elvis, fishing, gardening and canning. She especially loved spending time with her family.
Evelyn is survived by her children, Kevin Peterson, Allen (Mary) Peterson and Shelley (Glen) Carter; grandchildren, Callie, Ashley, Melissa, Brent, Eddie, Abigail, Matthew, Shea, Madisyn, Morgan and Mason; and great-grandchildren DJ and Envy. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings.
The family would like to thank South Georgia Medical Center for their care and compassion during this time.
Services for Evelyn will be held Friday, Oct. 1, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park at 2 p.m.
