Joanne Caroline Wanasek, 92, of Burlington, passed away Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021 at Oak Park Place in Burlington.
Joanne was born in Racine on February 2, 1929, to John “Jack” and Irma (nee Weisse) Wishau. She attended college at University of Wisconsin-Parkside. She was united in marriage to her late husband, Robert Wanasek, in Racine on Aug. 20, 1949.
Joanne worked as a legal secretary for Wanasek Law Office. She was a member of the Burlington Garden Club, Sweet Adeline’s and a 4H Leader. She was a master gardener and avid bird watcher.
Joanne is survived by her children, Brian (Diane) Wanasek and Jenny (Mark Weinberg) Wanasek; son-in-law Dave (Ann) Nash; grandchildren, Christopher Wanasek, Elizabeth Rothe, Katie Fahey, Sarah Smith, Thomas Nash, Geneva Lerner and Arielle Weber; and great-grandchildren, Scarlett Wanasek, Eliza Wanasek, William Wanasek, Maddie Weber, Calvin Weber, Oliver Rothe, Milo Rothe, Lydia Fahey, Nora Fahey, Ethan Smith, Juliann Smith, Katy Jo Nash, Frederick Nash, David Nash, Bruce Nash and Elizabeth Nash. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Jay Wishau, daughter Kathryn “Kay” Nash and grandson Gabriel Lerner.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Burlington Garden Club and the Chiwaukee Prairie Preservation Fund
