Kenneth S. Christensen Jr., 70, of Burlington, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center.
Kenneth was born to Kenneth and Delores (nee Finucane) Christensen Sr. on April 21, 1951. He grew up in Burlington, where he graduated from Burlington High School. He was united in marriage to Kirsten Kingstad on Aug. 21, 1976 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Burlington. They lived in Franklin for the last 23 years.
Ken worked as a carpenter and enjoyed fishing, golfing and watching sports. He also enjoyed playing cards, especially a good game of cribbage. He was a family man and spending time with his kids and grandchildren was extremely important to him.
Ken is survived by his wife, Kirsten; children, Carrie (Bryan), Alec (Vivian), Mary (Brett) and Erica (TJ); grandchildren, Teaghan, Natalia, Ethan, Isla and Alicia; brother, James (Sue) Christensen; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Christine and Barbara.
A memorial service for Ken will be held on Friday Aug. 13, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Cross Lutheran Church in Burlington, with Pastor John Brink Officiating. A celebration of life will follow after the service at 2:30 p.m. at Echo Lake Park in Burlington.
