Robert (Bob) A. Barbian, 72, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness, on Aug. 1, 2021 in his home surrounded by family.
Bob was the loving husband of Suzanne (nee Wolski) Barbian, his wife of 52 years; loving father of Lori (Tom) Drzewiecki and Jenni (Mike) O’Neil; beloved grandpa of Cody Geist; papa of Erin O’Neil, and Brooke and Brody Axelson; and loving brother of Dave Barbian and Mary (Jim) Jankowski. He was preceded in death by loving parents Mathias and Marcella Barbian; brother Jim Barbian; father and mother-in-law Norb and Anita Wolski; brother-in-law Jim Barry; and grandson Dalton Geist.
Bob was honored to serve his country as an Army Veteran. He served in the Army Reserve for six years.
Bob was a dedicated employee of We Energies for 42 years. He was proud of his accomplishment working up the ladder of success into management.
Bob had a passion for small engine repair and liked the challenge of building something from the ground up. If he wasn’t on the golf course in The Villages, Fla. or his favorite links in Wisconsin, he was found in his man-cave “garage” or his basement workshop. He loved his time hunting at “the lodge” in Adams Friendship, playing pickleball, or a recent hobby of radio control airplanes of which he was ecstatic to achieve his pilot’s license.
Bob lived a full life doing exactly what he loved with his best friend, Sue, beside him. He will be remembered for his sarcasm, sense of humor, stories, work ethic, kindness, generosity, and the example of true unconditional love.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held on Sunday, Aug. 8, 2021 from 2 until 3:50 p.m. with memorial service starting at 4 p.m. with Military Honors to follow at Integrity Celebrations Center, 2789 Browns Lake Dr., Burlington.
