Steven Richard Oaks, 65, passed away at home surrounded by family on Sept. 21, 2021 in Benson, Ariz. Known by his lifelong friends as “Chewbacca”, he was born in Milwaukee where he spent his earliest years. He moved to Burlington in his teens, where he lived the majority of his life.
Steven is survived by his wife of 47 years LuAnn (Lancaster) Oaks; daughters Laurie Oaks and Mellissa (Mark) Himebauch; granddaughters Isabella and Madelyn Himebauch; brother Gary (Cheryl) Oaks; brother by choice Clayton (Aleta) Loesch; niece and nephews Katie (Aaron) Rhyner, David (Alexis) Oaks and Dave (Amy) Assmann, and ten great nieces and nephews.
Steven was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Oaks; and his mother and father, Phyllis (Springer) and Norbert Tenhagen.
