Wayne M. Meinen Sr., 61, of Burlington, passed away Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021 at his home.
Wayne was born in Burlington on April 13, 1960, to Frank and Lilian (nee Klepp) Meinen. He grew up, was educated and his entire life, in Burlington and the surrounding area.
Wayne worked for Walmart. He was a loving man who loved to fish, play Euchre and pool, and spent lots of quality time with his family. He enjoyed taking trips to North Carolina and always enjoyed a blueberry pie.
Wayne is survived by his children, Shawna Meinen, Rhonda Meinen, Wayne (Brittany-Rae) Meinen Jr. and Ella Meinen; grandchildren, Xochitl, Isarah, Desire, Kai’lynn, Monique, Marquice, Malashia, Jasmine, Victoria, Blake, Tracey and Craig Jr.; siblings, Bernice (Paul) Gapp, Barbara (Jerry) Rudolph, Beverly (Wayne) Roach, Susan Karow, Jerry (Ronnie) Meinen, Wanda (Larry) Werner and Sandy Meinen; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Jay’lynn and siblings, Butch, David and Shirley.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors with Aurora at Home Hospice, along with family members Ronnie, Jerry, Bev and Bernice, for their help during this difficult time.
A visitation for Wayne will be held on Sunday, Aug. 22, 2021 from 11 a.m. until noon at the Echo Park Pavilion in Burlington. A service will begin at noon, with visitation continuing afterwards to celebrate Wayne’s life.
