Aileen M. Remer, 95, of Burlington, passed away Sunday, Aug. 28, 2022 at Hospice Alliance Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie.
Aileen was born July 28, 1927 in Burlington to George M. and Catherine (nee Jung) Frey. She was a lifetime resident of Burlington. She graduated from St. Mary High School in 1946 and married her high school sweetheart Kenneth Remer on July 30, 1949. Kenny preceded her in death on April 22, 1983.
Aileen was a homemaker and member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She was also in 4-H when they lived on the farm and was a Girl Scout leader for eight years. She was a great cook and enjoyed crafts. Sewing was one of her joys and she loved making clothes for her girls when they were growing up. She also enjoyed traveling, embroidery and puzzle books. She started to work outside of the home when her children were all in school. She worked at Nestles for 28 years, retiring in 1994.
Aileen is survived by her children, Greg (Marcia) Remer, Timothy (Lisa) Remer, LuAnn (Melvin Kaddatz) Lois, and Diane (Dan) Brady; sisters, Kathleen Thom and Phyllis Robers; sister-in-laws, Dorie Frey and Joyce Frey; grandchildren, Ken, Scott, Mark, Alia, Matt, Jason, Jamie, John and Catherine; great-grandchildren, Breahna, Tristan, Ethan, Breanne, Christan, Braeden, Dexter, Bennett, Calvin, Jacob and Elizabeth; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Aileen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Lois Remer; sisters and in-laws, Delores (George) Borgo, Mary (Frank) McNamara, Joan (Edward) May, Bernard Thom and Claude Robers; and brothers, George Frey and Paul Frey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Sept. 8 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church. Other relatives and friends may meet with the family on Wednesday, Sept. 7 from 4 until 7 p.m. at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home. Burial will follow Mass at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
