Barbara L. Guzzetta of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, departed this earthly life Dec. 18, 2022 after her battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born to Dorine and Alphonse Breske on Aug. 14, 1941.
She is survived by her husband Joseph Guzzetta; children Michelle (Joe) Gerzetich and Dan (Rita) Guzzetta; granddaughters Maria Guzzetta and Francesca Guzzetta, two step grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; and her siblings Judy (Denny) Lois, Deborah (Dan) Vos, and Steve (Joann) Breske.
Barb was a loving and deeply caring sister, wife and mother. Her spirit and smile will be missed by many.
Barbara attended Burlington High School and went on to take a year of Art at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. After the kids were in school she worked doing medical records for Dr. Van Liere in Burlington and then later for the Burlington Memorial Hospital. Barb was a Sunday school teacher at the United Methodist church and a Girl Scout troop leader. She also enjoyed canoeing and camping with her family. When her husband retired they moved from Burlington to Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
Barb found much joy in creating arts and crafts and crocheted afghans and blankets. She was a member of a quilting club and made many bedspreads and quilted wall art. She loved being outdoors and in her later years spent much time daily tending to the beautiful landscaping around her home.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made in Barbara’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association to help in the fight against this disease. A celebration of Barb’s life will be held with family in the spring of 2023.
