Boyd G. Jones, 84, of Bassett, passed away peacefully Sunday, Oct. 9, 2022, at Zilber Family Hospice in Wauwatosa.
Boyd was born in Burlington on April 24, 1938, to Gerald and Leila (nee Rose) Jones. His early life was spent in Burlington, where he attended Burlington High School. He served in the National Guard for two years. On Feb. 12, 1971, in Burlington, he was united in marriage to Maria Flores. Following marriage, they lived in Rochester and Racine before moving to Bassett 39 years ago.
Boyd worked as a truck driver, bus driver and as a farmer. He also worked for Massey Ferguson, while starting his pallet shop business in Bassett. He was a lifelong Baptist and a member of Westosha Baptist Church. He taught Sunday School for the many churches he belonged to over the years. He also loved farming and raising cows and goats. He was very devoted to his religion and his family.
Boyd is survived by his wife, Maria; children, Raymond (Amy), George, Kenneth, Heather (Karl) Robers and Alex; grandchildren, Rayanne, George, Calvin, Gage, Preston and Kendall; and brother, Glen (Linda). He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Karen Kawanski.
The family would like to thank Aurora at Home Hospice and his neighbor, Phyllis Balding, for their care and compassion during this time.

A funeral service for Boyd will be held on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022, at 5 p.m. at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
