Bruce L. Newbury, 57, of Oak Park, Illinois, passed away on Nov. 9, 2021 at Rush Hospital, Oak Park, Illinois.
Bruce was born in Burlington on Feb. 15, 1964 to Brian and Barbara Newbury, and spent his childhood years in the community. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School, followed by a BA Degree in Business Management and Recreation from the University of Wisconsin, LaCrosse. He continued his education to earn a Masters Degree in Marketing. His business career was spent mostly in the Trade Show Exhibition Industry, allowing him the enjoyment of world-wide travel.
He was active as a Board Member of Aspire-Chicago and a Member of OPRF Booster Club. He enjoyed coaching T-Ball, Softball and loved watching his children play sports. Listening to music was also a passion of Bruce.
Bruce is survived by daughters, Izzy, and Jessica; son Benjamin; mother Barbara Grove; brothers, Brad and Bob (Karin); niece Emily; nephew Ryan; special friend, Susie Beyer and best friend, David Knight.

A Celebration of Life was held in Oak Park to honor Bruce last November, and an additional celebration will be held Aug. 28, 2022, at 2 p.m. at the Burlington Cemetery. There will be a service and Bruce’s ashes will be buried in the Newbury plot where three generations of the family rest. Following the burial, friends and relatives are invited to the Charcoal Grill in Burlington from 3 to 5 p.m.
