Donald LeRoy Gustafson, 92, of Burlington, passed away Friday, March 18, 2022 at his home.
Donald was born in North Dakota on June 8, 1929, to Carl and Mary Ann (nee Baker) Gustafson. On Nov. 26, 1950, he was united in marriage to Katherine Marie Ulness. He served in the US Army and together he and Katherine lived in Alaska’s Big Delta base, after which they settled in Fargo, North Dakota. She preceded him in death on Dec. 16, 2015.
Donald worked for Chevrolet Division of General Motors in the Fargo and Milwaukee Zones retiring in 1987 from being the Zone Organization Manager. He enjoyed spending time with his family, Sunday brunches and having conversational coffee with friends and family a like. He was a member of Cross Lutheran Church since 1965 and an avid supporter of the American Legion.
Donald is survived by his children, Mark (Karen) Gustafson of Rochester Hills, Michigan and Debra Weber of Waukesha; grandchildren, Nathan Weber, Justin (Kristi) Weber, Erin (Courtney) Freeland, Brian (Amy) Gustafson and Kasie Gustafson; great-grandchildren, Remi, Ross, Lorelei, Scarlett, Celia and Isaac; and sister, Ila Jean (Stan) Goter. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and sister, Frances Poulsen.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion or the Shriners.
Services for Donald will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Noon at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home with Rev. John Brink officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be at the funeral home on Saturday, March 26 from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
