James Richard Brown, 80, of Twin Lakes, died at Lakeland Health Care Center in Elkhorn on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022, on the Immaculate Conception.
Jimmy was born on July 10, 1942, in Burlington, to Henry and Doris (nee Berlament) Brown. He lived in the Burlington area until 1977 when he moved to Twin Lakes with his brother, Dave, and sister-in-law, Joanne, who cared for him in their home for nearly 50 years. He attended the Burlington Achievement Center and later the Kenosha Achievement Centers in Bristol and Kenosha. Later in life he resided at Crabtree Residential Living and then at Lakeland Health Care Center.
Jimmy had a good soul and a heart of gold, and was loved by all who knew him. He had a great sense of humor and liked to joke around and light-heartedly tease. He liked hard candies, Keebler Elf cookies, and especially loved chocolate. He enjoyed a chocolate cupcake and chocolate milk for his 80th birthday this year. He loved watches and made sure he had a new watch just about every month. He was an avid Chicago Bears, Cub, and Sox fan and liked to listen to country music on the radio. He was a proud uncle who delighted in spending time with his great-nieces and nephews.
Jimmy is survived by his sister, Debbie; sisters-in-law, Faline, Wendy, and Joanne; and many special nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, and two sisters.
Jimmy’s family would like to extend sincere and heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Lakeland Medical Center, Lakeland Health Care Center, and Aurora at Home Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Lakeland Healthcare Center.
