Janice D. Cantrell, 93, of Elkhorn, passed away Sunday, Nov. 6, 2022 at Lakeland Health Care Center in Elkhorn.
Janice was born in Highland on March 13, 1929, to Joseph and Rose (nee Westland) Halverson. Her early life was spent in both Highland and Cobb. She has been a resident of Burlington and Elkhorn since 1968.
Janice worked and retired from Nestle. She enjoyed traveling to casinos in her free time.
Janice is survived by her children, Michael Schmit and Steven (Darlene) Schmit; grandson, Jerad (Amber Guthman) Schmit; great-granddaughter, Mylliana Schmit; sister, Marlys Wolenec; and nephew, John Wolenec. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter; grandson, Zachary Schmit; siblings, Sally (Leo) Meudt, Clara (Ray) Kessler, Eileen (Frannie) Quigley, Dorothy (Charles) Biddick, Dallas (Norma) Halverson, Harley Halverson and Bernell Halverson; and brother-in-law, Gene Wolenec.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Lakeland Health Care Center for their care and compassion during this time.
