JILL THERESE LEWIS

Jill Therese (nee Olsen) Lewis, 61, of Waukesha and formerly of Burlington, went home to her Lord and Savior on Aug. 8, 2022, surrounded by loved ones after a brave fight against ALS in Miami, Florida.

Jill was born on January 21, 1961, to Russell Olsen and Penny Soule. She spent her childhood in Burlington, where she formed lifelong friendships and a love for children and animals. After graduating from Burlington High School in 1979, Jill went on to work with many cherished friends at the local Sentry. She was married in 1985 to Thomas Mack and was blessed with her two beautiful children in 1990 and 1993. After 25 years with Sentry, Jill went on to pursue her love of helping children with intellectual and physical disabilities. After getting a foot in the door while working in the Burlington Area School District, she moved on to working for Orchard Lane Elementary in New Berlin and Waterford Union High School where she met her husband, Timothy Lewis of Waukesha. Tim and Jill married on July 22, 2012. Once Jill had left in-school childcare, she began to provide care for two separate families that soon took her in as one of their own family members.

Jill was a devout member of Fox River Christian Church in Waukesha, frequenter of Minooka Dog Park, and life-long traveler. She was an avid nature and animal-lover, spending much of her time with her dogs, Anabelle and Jewel, and feeding the wildlife near her home. She enjoyed her time with friends dining, kayaking, and watching her beloved Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park. She also delighted in exploring tropical areas of the world with her husband. In her last year of life, Jill was blessed with two beautiful granddaughters, fulfilling her dream of becoming a grandma.

Jill is survived by her husband, Timothy Lewis; mother, Penny Soule; stepmother, Kim Olsen; sister Jodi (Terry) Walker; brother, John (Traci) Dewey; sister Christine (James) Jacobsen; stepbrother, Craig (Sunghi) Nelson, her daughter, Hayley (Brian) Gibbon; granddaughter Grace Gibbon; her son, Michael (Abigail) Mack; granddaughter Sutton Mack; stepson Jordan (Maricel) Lewis; grandchildren Isabelle, Gabriel, Elizabeth; stepson Justin (Brooke) Lewis; grandchildren, Mason, Caleb and Brynn; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
