Joan M. Ehlen, 83, died April 20, 2022.
Joan was born in Burlington on Feb. 23, 1939, to the late George and Helen (Koetterhagen) Bieneman. She attended St. Mary’s High School in Burlington, where she graduated as Valedictorian of her class. On July 18, 1959 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Burlington, she was united in marriage to John Ehlen.
Joan worked for many years for H&R Block in Lake Geneva, which she then purchased and owned for many years. She enjoyed working in the garden and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Joan is survived by her husband of 62 years, John; children, Debra (Jeff) Adell, Leonard Ehlen, Kathleen (John) Koepp and Jacob Ehlen; siblings, George (Diane) Bieneman, Roger (Joy) Bieneman and MaryEllen Raduenz; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and brothers-in-law Glenn Lois and John Nash. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Evelyn Nash and Jeannie Lois.
Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at 12 p.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 148 W. Main St., Lake Geneva. Burial will follow in St. Kilian Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
