Kathleen A. “Kathy” Foat, 69, of Waterford, passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 7, 2022, with loving family at her side after a long battle from cancer.
Kathy was born in Burlington to Arnold and Julie (nee Mehring) Himebauch. She grew up on the family farm in Waterford and attended St. Thomas Grade School and graduated from Waterford High School. She went on to school in Milwaukee to obtain her cosmopolitan license. On Sept. 5, 1981, she married Greg Foat at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Kathy was a homemaker and worked for over 12 years for UPS before retirement. A proud member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, she assisted with Turkey Dinners and Sunday school, and sat on the Fellowship Board. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, whether it was to the Northwoods or a tropical destination to escape the Wisconsin winters. Kathy and Greg also enjoyed motorcycle rides in the country as well. But most of all, she enjoyed the company of her loving family, especially her grandchildren.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband Greg; mother Julie Himbauch; children Casey (Eric) Dietz, Cory (John) Mamerow and Garrett (Ashley) Foat; and grandchildren Elliott Dietz, Beckham Mamerow, and Harper and Harrison Foat. She is also survived by siblings Shirley (Dave) Baumeister, Greg (LuAnn) Himebauch and Dale (Kathy) Himebauch; brothers-in-law Gary (Kim) Foat and Grant Foat; and other relatives and countless friends.
She is preceded in death by her father: Arnold “Arnie” Himebauch; mother and father-in-law, Herbert and Jean Foat, and brother-in-law Guy Foat.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Feb. 14 from 3 until 7 p.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 145 South Sixth Street, Waterford, followed by services at 7 p.m. Burial will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 15 at 10 a.m. at Rochester Cemetery. Please meet at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or St. Jude’s Hospital. The family thanks Kim and the staff of Aurora Hospice, and a special heartfelt thank you to her sister Shirley for the last few months of endless love and care for Kathy.
