Lawrence R. Merten, 61, of Burlington, passed away Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022 at his home.
Lawrence was born in Burlington, on Feb. 29, 1960, to Roger and Carol (nee Neu) Merten. He was a dairy farmer on the family farm and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Jaycees. His favorite hobby was talking. He loved his family and working on the family farm.
Lawrence is survived by his siblings, Margaret “Peggy” (Dale) Isaacson of Malone, Steve Merten of Ellensburg, Wash. and Patricia Merten of Texas; niece, Paxtyn Merten; nephews, Noah and Thaddaus; god children, Miranda DeFranco (children, Kayla, Lindsay and Anna), Elizabeth (Dustin) Brunn (son Eithan Brunn) and Rebecca (Fiance Robert Donovan) Isaacson; along with many other friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to thank their family and friends for their love and support during this time.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Racine County Fair.
A burial for Lawrence will be held Friday, Feb. 11, 2022 at 11 a.m. at St. Killian’s Cemetery.
