Marilyn J. Johnson, 93, of Elkhorn, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2022, at Lakeland Health Care Center in Elkhorn.
Marilyn was born in Tacoma, Washington on April 28, 1929, to Harold and Bertha (nee Hukee) Lust Comaford. She spent ten years in Chihuahua and San Louis, Mexico before moving to El Paso, San Antonio and Tyler, Texas. She later earned her degree at SMU in Home Economics. On April 20, 1954 in Tyler, Texas, she was united in marriage to Frederick L. Johnson. Following marriage, they lived in Winfield, Illinois, and settled in Oak Park, Illinois, in 1968. They moved to Burlington in 1974. He preceded her in death on Jan. 28, 2003.
Marilyn worked as a hostess for White Fox Den II. She also worked in real estate, Sears, NEL Frequency Controls and Burlingshire. She was a member of St. John the Divine Episcopal Church. She enjoyed sewing and quilting and showed two prize-winning quilts at the Walworth County Fair. She started a prayer shawl group at her church and was dedicated to taking care of her family.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Sharon Denise (Johnson) Twist, Eric William (Sonja) Johnson and Alec Chapman Johnson; and grandchildren, Kari Denise Twist, Melissa Ann Twist, Anna Marie Johnson and Kristina Isabell Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Lust and Bertha Comaford; husband, Frederick; and brother, William C. Lust.
The family would like to thank the staff at Lakeland Health Care Center and St. Croix Hospice for their care and compassion during this time.

A private committal service will take place at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, Illinois.
