Michael J. Wegge, 67, of Burlington, passed away peacefully Friday, January 28, 2022.
Michael (Mike) was born on July 12, 1954 to Russell and Patricia (nee McDonald) Wegge. He was raised in Burlington and worked as a truck driver for over 40 years.
Mike was known as a real prankster and was always getting into mischief, a true rebel without a cause. While growing up, his siblings lovingly remembered him as the “Bully,” and recall the one year he was the only one of five kids to receive coal in his Christmas stocking from St. Nick. He was actually a quiet, gentle, and generous man. Mike grew up loving to hunt and camp and was an avid reader. More recently, among his friends, he was named CEO and President of the Mustache Club.
Mike is survived by his father and by his siblings, twin brother, Patrick, sister Diane (Steve) Schiller, brothers Tim (Brenda), and Tom (Anne), and many nieces and nephews, and great nieces; along with many other friends and family. He was preceded in death by his loving mother and infant sister Ann.
The family would like to thank their family and friends for their love and support during this time.
A private family graveside service and burial will be held.
