Paul Michael “Uncle Paul” Krien Sr., 83, peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, July 17, 2022.
Paul was born in Chicago on April 12, 1939, to Harold and Agnes “Dolly” Krien. He attended and graduated from St. Mary Catholic School in Burlington. On Aug. 1, 1959, he was united in marriage to Nancy Jane McCarthy at St. Mary Catholic Church.
Paul worked at Nestle for over 30 years. In his younger days, he enjoyed playing softball, bowling and golfing along with manning the grill for many pig roasts. In his later years, he enjoyed joining friends and family for camping and fishing trips, and attending his children’s, grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s sporting events and school activities. He was so very proud of his entire family and loved nothing more than having a large gathering where we were all together as a family.
Paul is survived by his children, Paul (Linda) Krien Jr. of Kansasville, Robert (Geri) Krien of Burlington, Patrick (Holly) Krien of Franksville and Kori (Jack) Storck of Kansasville; son-in-law, James Machalik; grandchildren, Kyle (Dani) and Marcus (Karlye) Krien, Tyler and Kelsey Machalik, Austin (Aliyah) and Mitchell Krien, Ryne, Savannah and Samantha Storck, Chad Hensiak, Denise (Jim) Falaschi and Melanie Hensiak; sister, Patricia (Gene) Hafermann; brother-in-law, James Rueter Sr.; along with numerous loving great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers Robert and Thomas, sister Marilynn Rueter and daughters Kimberly Ann Krien and Michelle Machalik.
The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude to the multitude (so, so many!!) of caregivers, family and friends who have been so instrumental in our father’s care over the past months. We are truly grateful for all the love, compassion friendship and comfort you gave him and us.
A memorial celebration in honor of Paul will be held in August.
