RICHARD F. BEERE

      Richard F. “Dick” Beere, 99, of the Town of Dover, passed away at home on Dec. 14, 2022, just 10 days away from his 100th birthday.

Dick was born in Racine to Frank Conrad and Elizabeth Clara (nee Giannoni) Beere. A graduate of Washington Park High School in Racine, he obtained his apprentice license for tool and die making. He served three years in the United States Army at Winsford Cheshire, England, where he met his wife, Gladys M. Spann.

Upon returning to the states, Dick and Gladys were married in Racine on Aug. 31, 1946. They lived in Racine where Dick was a draftsman for Massey Harris. Dick formed Beere Tool, later known as Beere Precision Products, which he owned and managed until 2020. During his time as owner, he authored twenty-one patents. Dick and Gladys moved to their Town of Dover farm in the late 1960’s where he enjoyed animal husbandry. The family would travel to Oklahoma and Kansas to purchase new bloodlines to upgrade the beef herd. These trips out west were enjoyed by the entire family.

Dick is survived by children, Paul, Helen (Rick) Peterson, Edward, John (Ellen), and Tom (Rhonda); grandchildren, Rebecca (Chad) Henderson, Ben (Shelley) Beere, Emily (Tom) Cetta, Matt (Kim) Peterson, Ann Peterson, Richard (Jacqeline) Beere, Kevin (Vanessa) Beere, David Beere, Madison Beere, Mikayla (Kyle) Lazarides, Spann Beere, Jett Beere, Joey Zimmerman, Abby (Dan) Peterson, and Matt Zimmerman; great-grandchildren, Jack, Sam, Clara, Max, Leo, Peyton, Kami, Michael, Frank, Luna, Navy, Cashton, Chandler, Cannon, Coakley, and Silas; and by other relatives and friends.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Gladys, daughter-in-law Barbara, and brothers, Bud (Pat), and Ed.

Visitation will be at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 305 South First Street, Waterford, on Friday, Dec. 23, 2022, from 10 to 11 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11 a.m. followed by burial in the church cemetery.

In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, Dick’s family suggests memorials to St. Thomas Church.
