ROBERT WAGNER

Robert “Bob” Wagner passed away suddenly on Monday April 25, 2022.

Bob was born in Chicago to George and Betty (Gildykas) Wagner on Oct. 1, 1952. He graduated from Salem Central High School in 1970 and went on to serve in the Army National Guard from 1972 to 1978. Bob worked for Chrysler for 30 years before retiring. He then worked for Gander Mountain in Kenosha as a gunsmith for 12 years.

Bob married Judy Butler on October 16, 1971. They were married for fifty loving years. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and newly minted great grandfather. He was avid Bears fan and loved when the family was able to be together (and give him a hard time about his die-hard devotion to his team!).

Left behind to remember him fondly are his wife Judy; sons Steve (Julia) and Scott; four adored grandchildren, Jake Wagner, Madison (Sean) Sweeney, Emily Wagner and Sydney Wagner; and great grandson, whom he affectionately called Pumpkin head, Lucas Wagner. He is further survived by sisters, Linda (Rick) Kluge and Sandi (Rick) Nichols; brother Tim Wagner; sisters-in-law Joanne (George) Grady, Jan (Dennis) Elfering and Jill (Mike) Dunklau; brothers-in-law Jim (Debbie) Butler and Jeff (Debbie) Butler; numerous nieces and nephews, former daughter-in-law Stephanie Reesman, numerous close friends whom he cared about deeply and godchildren, Eric Ellsworth, Colleen Swanson, and Amanda Sillich. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, George and Betty Wagner; in-laws, Donald and Ella Mae Butler; brother John Wagner and sister-in-law Julie Butler.

In 2016, Bob and Judy fulfilled their dream of moving to Florida and living a life of leisure in the Florida sun. They have made many friends in their community and Judy has treasured the time she and Bob were able to share in their retirement.

The family would like to thank Dick and Lynette Ellsworth and the entire Lamplighter family for helping Judy through this difficult time.
