Ronald “Ron” Jung, 95, former longtime resident of Waterford and Wind Lake, passed away in the late evening on June 9, 2022, at Pine Brook Pointe in Burlington.
Ron was born in Milwaukee on Dec. 2, 1926, to John and Loretta (Geckler) Jung. He met the love of his life, Patricia “Pat” DeBack at a dance in 1950. They were united in marriage on July 28, 1951 and loved each other on this earth for nearly 71 years. Their 71st wedding anniversary would have been on July 28 this year. They loved to dance, play cards, spend time with family and raise four kids. Ron and Pat went dancing nearly every weekend for many, many years.
Ron grew up in Muskego. He went to West Milwaukee High School where he received a scholarship for drawing. After high school, he enlisted in the Army in 1949, served the 101st Airborne and Army Reserve for many years. He also joined the Carpenter and Millwright Union Local 2337 working as a millwright. He received his 50th year pin for 50 years of service. He retired in 1987. During his working life, he had many occupations, mostly being a carpenter. He was a soldier, farmer, truck driver and welder among other things. He was an entrepreneur, an inventor and handyman. He could fix anything and did! He was a respected God-fearing man, husband, son, and dad. He loved to laugh, especially with family and friends, sitting around a campfire telling stories and general BS’n. He had a great big hug and smile for everyone. He will most certainly be missed, but he is in a much better place, and we will see him soon. We imagine he is helping the Lord in building those mansions along with Uncle Norm, Praise the Lord!
Ron was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Waterford. He belonged to the Senior Friendship Club at church as well. He enjoyed the many years of watching his grandchildren play sports, especially Crystie Cowan and Lauren Porter when they played softball and volleyball through grade and high school. He had a very special relationship with his grandsons, Tom and Zackary Tymus.
In his departing, Ron leaves his wife Pat; son and namesake, Ronnie (Linda); sons Scott (Terri) and Steven (Debbie); daughter, Shelley (Chuck) Kempken; grandchildren, Ethan (Dani) Jung, Afton (Josh) Kehl, Adam (Trista) Jung, David (Kim) Jung, Brittany (Alan) Erb, Matthew (Becky) Jung, James (Kristin) Jung, Crystal (Dan) Cowan, Thomas Tymus, Lauren Porter (Danny Walter) and Zackary Tymus; great-grandchildren, Sean and Mikayla Jung, Landen and Sidney Kehl, Charlotte and Sophia Jung, Cole, Kennedy and Cayden Cowan, Lily Tymus, Westin and Aubrey Porter, and Kora, Sabrina and Janessa Tymus. He is further survived by sister Joan Dibb; sister-in-law Pauline Jung; and many nieces and nephews. He was Godfather to Dennis Wieselmann and Terry Schopp
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; brother Norman Jung; sister Raelene (Jung) Eigenberger; and brothers-in-law Claude Eigenberger and Donald (Joe) Dibb.
