Bonnie Lee Thomas, 83, died on Dec. 2, 2023, after a long illness, at Aurora Burlington Hospital with her husband at her side.
Bonnie was born on Dec. 18, 1939, in Spring Grove, Illinois to Ernest and Edith (nee Reed) Snyder. She was orphaned at an early age and was raised by her brother and his wife, Topper and Irma Snyder, in Wilmot. On June 18, 1960, she was united in marriage to Richard C. Thomas at Holy Family Catholic Church in Wilmot. Their marriage was blessed with four children. Bonnie was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Burlington for over 60 years.
Bonnie graduated from high school at Wilmot High School in 1958 and went on to cosmetology school and graduated in 1959. As a beautician, she worked for numerous salons before opening her own beauty shop, Bonnie’s Beauty Shop in Cedar Park. She had the beauty shop for over 20 years and then worked for the City of Burlington for 20 years.
Bonnie enjoyed car shows, her 1953 Ford Convertible Indianapolis Pace Car, gardening, rummage sales, and later in life, did extensive genealogy on her family tree. But the most important thing in her life was her kids, grandkids and great grandkids.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and all four of her older brothers, Harold, Francis “Topper”, Ernest Jr., and Ray.
Bonnie is survived by his husband Richard; her four children, Mark (Mary Ellen) Thomas of Fountain Hills, Arizona, Jesse (Corinne) Thomas of Delavan, Donna (Jim Little) Mondloch of Dewey, Arizona and Kevin (Julie) Thomas of East Troy; six grandchildren, Kayla, Jessica, Rachael, Anne, Amanda and Ryan; and ten great-grandchildren, Scarlette, Joseph, Kayleigh, Evelyn, Gabriel, Oliver, Mabel, Diana, Hazel and Calian.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Noon on Monday, Dec. 11, 2023, at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Relatives and friends can visit with the family on Sunday, Dec. 10 at the Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home from 2 until 6 p.m. Burial will take place in Wilmot Cemetery on Monday at 3:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Charles Catholic Church renovation fund.
