David Edward Wright, 59, a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, died unexpectedly on Nov. 30, 2023, in Burlington with his mother and brother Chris by his side. He will be deeply missed by family and friends.
David was born on Oct. 4, 1964, in Rockford, Illinois to Gary and Kathleen (Seymour) Wright. The family moved to Honey Lake when he was of very young and then to nearby Paradise Valley. He lived in the Burlington area for most of his life.
David worked for many years in the automobile industry where he became an expert painter. He could keep the most questionable of vehicles running and was a master handyman able to fix anything. No matter what it was, he put his all into it. When his mother began to need full-time care, he dedicated himself to her health and wellbeing until his passing.
From a young age David had a passion for music and played in several bands. After his sons Brandon and Nicholas were born, by their mother Kendra, he concentrated on his family, instilling his passion for music in them as well. He continued to play and write music for himself until his final days.
David also had a deep compassion for animals and a wonderful sense of humor. The newest joy in his life was his grandson, Roman, who he loved to laugh and play with just as he did with his own sons. No matter what struggles he faced, David always had love, happiness and support for his children and family.
David was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Roland and Margerat Wright, his maternal grandparents Edward and Amy Seymour, and cousin, Laura.
He is survived by his parents, Gary and Kathleen Wright; his sons Brandon and Nicholas (Shelby) Wright; grandson Roman; and siblings Kim (Ross), Robert (Kymberly), April and Christopher Wright.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Riverwood Community Church, 6919 McHenry Street, Burlington, at noon on Dec. 20.
