Eduarda “Ede” (nee Aguilar) Heck, 72, of Burlington, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Aurora Medical Center in Burlington.
Born in Carrizo Springs, Texas, to Martin Aguilar and Manuela Gonzalez, Ede spent her early life in Wind Lake, Waterford, Lyons and Lake Geneva before making Burlington her home. She worked as a CNA before making her career as a teacher’s assistant for Burlington School District for children with special needs and disabilities. On May 5, 1995, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Ede was united in marriage to Kenneth Heck and together they resided in Burlington for 55 years. Kenneth preceded Ede in death on May 5, 2014.
Ede had a zest for life. She enjoyed baking and cooking for her family and friends. She was always trying new cake and pie recipes for birthdays and anniversaries. She enjoyed having her grandchildren visit and spending time outdoors. She was proud of her gazebo and tiki bar that Dennis and Tom rebuilt for her. She especially loved her road trips to Texas with Dennis and Tom.
