Eleanor M. Tenhagen, 96, of Oconomowoc and formerly of Burlington, passed away at Angels Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc, surrounded by her loving family.
Eleanor was born in Milwaukee on April 4, 1927, to Rudolph and Katherine (Martin) Pechacek. She moved to Burlington as a child where she attended local schools.
On Dec. 1, 1945, she married Edwin Tenhagen in Burlington. He preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 2007.
Eleanor was proud that she could stay home and raise her family. Later in life she worked part-time at Haskell’s Dress Shop in Burlington. She enjoyed boating, riding motorcycles, and playing cards.
Eleanor is survived by her two daughters, Sandra (Larry) Bauman of Burlington and Debra Gusho of Oconomowoc; five grandchildren, Heather Silverman, Shannon Bauman-Strunk, Ryan Bauman, and Lucas and Logan Gusho; eight great-grandchildren, Braden Bauman, Zachary, Cassandra and Lacey Silverman, Bryce and Caden Bauman, and Kailey and Allyssa Strunk.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and two sisters.
A memorial service will be held on July 7, 2023, at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove at 2:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association.
