Ellen Howe Zimmer, 74, of Waterford, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side March 1, 2023.
Ellen was born to Fred and Mary (nee Peters) Howe on Feb. 21, 1949. She was a lifelong resident of Waterford. She grew up in the Rochester area and graduated from Waterford Union High School.
Ellen met the love of her life in Randall Zimmer and they were married on May 29, 1971. They raised two children. Randall passed away August 13, 2019.
Ellen loved all kinds of music and was always the life of the party. Her life was filled with joy. She loved to sing, dance, and have fun. Most important was her family, whom she loved to care for and support. Ellen made everything and everyone around her brighter. She was the heart and the harmony and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Ellen is survived by her beautiful children, Amy Zimmer and Justin (Claudia) Zimmer; four adorable grandchildren, Chloe, Cecilia, Charlie, and Henry; sister Karen (Martin) Howe-Taylor, brother John (Susan) Howe, other relatives, and countless friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband Randall.
A Celebration of Life was held at Mealy Funeral Home on March 7, 2023.
In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, memorials made payable to “Amy Zimmer” are suggested to be distributed by the family as to Ellen’s wishes.
