Gladys L. Sheard, 95, of Burlington, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023, at her home.
Gladys was born in Milwaukee on Jan. 5, 1928, to Frank and Amanda (nee Lewitzke) Boyan. Her early life was spent in Milwaukee before moving to Waterford. On Nov. 29, 1947, she was united in marriage to Warren Sheard. Following marriage, they made Burlington their home. She was a Burlington resident for 76 years. Warren preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 2007
Gladys worked in food service for the Burlington School District. She loved camping, bowling, gambling and taking care of her dogs.
Gladys is survived by her children, Robert (Leslie) Sheard, Michael (Joann) Sheard, Randy (Janet) Sheard and Jim (Sandra) Ducommun; grandchildren, Tami, Macey, Lori, Bobbi, Rachel, Amanda, Emma, Emily, Sarah and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Brandon, Tyus, Chris, Brittany, Brianna, Owen, Bryce, Adley, Aubrey, Alani, Emma, Logan and Kayleigh; and great-great-grandchildren, Dean and Lucas. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant brother in childbirth, sister June Ducommun and brother-in-law Willis “Jim” Ducommun.
A Memorial Services for Gladys will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at 6 p.m. at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home. Relatives and friends can visit with the family from 4 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Norway Hill Cemetery.
