James A. “Jim” Jacobs, Sr., 71, of Burlington, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Aurora Medical Center in Burlington.
Jim was born in Burlington on Sept. 29, 1951, to Herbert W. and Inez (nee Himebauch) Jacobs. He was a lifelong resident of Burlington and graduated from Burlington High School, Class of 1969.
Jim worked as an electrician with his father for Jacob’s Electric and then with his brother for Jake’s Electric. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, watching races and spending time with his dog, Ted.
Jim is survived by his son, James “JJ” Jr. (Aubrey); grandchildren, Landon and Easton; siblings, William Jacobs, Thomas Jacobs and Peggy (Robert) Clark; special niece, Courtney Halverson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Sharlene.
The family would like to thank Dr. Haider and staff, along with the nurses at Burlington Hospital, for their care and compassion during this time.
Burial will take place at Burlington Cemetery on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 11 a.m.
