Janice L. Jackley, 83, of Lyons, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at her home.
Janice was born on the family farm in Lyons on April 28, 1940, to Joseph and Aileen (nee Howe) Schoenberg. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Grade School and St. Mary’s High School. On Aug. 8, 1959, she was united in marriage to Robert Jackley. He preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 1966. On Aug. 28, 1968, she was united in marriage to Anthony Iselin. She was a lifelong member of the Burlington area.
Janice was a loving mother who called her family daily to chat with them and loved getting together with her family and friends. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and bringing them treats. They affectionately referred to her as Gam-Gam, Grocery Cart Grandma, Mrs. Doubtfire and Lucky Star Grandma. Her hobbies included feeding and watching the birds and tending to her flowers and garden. She also loved living on the family farm with extended family and friends nearby.
Janice is survived by her former husband, Tony (Betty) Iselin; children, Rick (Mary) Jackley, Chuck (Sue) Jackley, Jim (Terri) Jackley and Pam (Jeff) Jackley; grandchildren, John (Jessica) Jackley, Aileen (Luke) Madden, Matt Marcum, Peter Jackley, Thomas (Abbey) Jackley, and Ronnie (Kayla) Goldschmidt; great grandchildren, Mason, Brooke, Melanie, Avah, John Jr., Arya, Emmie, Diana and Gus; and her sister-in-law, Harriet Schoenberg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Jackley; daughter-in-law, Michelle Jackley; brothers, Howie (Marge) Schoenberg, Bill (Margaret) Schoenberg, and Dick Schoenberg; and her loving companion, Ron Dickman.
Services for Janice will be held Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Brighton. Burial will take place at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery following the service.
