Joyce M. Testdorf, 90, of Burlington, passed away Saturday, Aug. 5, 2023, at East Troy Manor.
Joyce was born in Burlington on Jan. 3, 1933. She was the only child of Carl and Nora (nee Ketterhagen) Pieters. She grew up in Burlington and graduated from St. Mary’s Grade and High School. On Nov. 24, 1955, at St. Mary’s Church, she was united in marriage to Marvin Testdorf. Following marriage, they resided in Joyce’s childhood home and raised four children. Marvin preceded her in death on June 7, 2004.
Joyce started her working career at Plymouth Loan Company and then ventured into her passion for retail sales, which included Montgomery Wards, Leyes Department Store, Henney Pharmacy and Fashion Exchange. Her volunteering included Girl Scout Cookie Mom and her 11 ½ years and 590 hours at Aurora Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
Joyce always looked forward to her “lunch bunch” outings, her Saturday night couples card club with lifelong friends, and her trips to the “north woods”.
Joyce’s deepest devotion was to her children and granddaughters. She is survived by her children, Linda (Jim) Otto, Sherilyn (Guy) Klewin and Carleen (Daniel Jr.) Schwabe; and grandchildren, Leah (Joshua) Jarocki and Lauren (Jordan) Hauge. She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin and son Thomas.
Joyce will be remembered by her graciousness and favorite words of “thank you” with a big smile.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 11, 2023, at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Friday, Aug. 11, 2023 from 3 until 5:15 p.m. at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home. Private burial will take place in St. Mary Parish Cemetery.
