Lillet Lee, 91, passed away on Nov. 30, 2023, at Pine Brook Pointe in Burlington. She was born on Sept. 8, 1932, in Sion, Switzerland. In 1957, Lillet made the brave decision to leave her homeland and make America her new home.
Lillet ran the restaurant, Chateau on the Rocks, in Sterling, Illinois, before discovering her true passion for travel. Her love for travel became the centerpiece of her career as she worked tirelessly as a travel agent, helping others fulfill their wanderlust and create cherished memories. Her passion for exploring the world extended beyond her professional life. Lillet’s affinity for travel became a family affair, as she shared her adventures with her family.
Lillet is survived by her children, Dominique (Chet) Tuinstra, Chuck Lee and Samantha Klapperch; grandchildren, Taylor (Andy), Adam, Shane, Nicholas, Dakotah, Alyse, Jesse, Tommy (Kristen) and Vinny (Liz); great grandchildren, Cooper, Mason, Vanessa, and Scarlett; several family members that still reside in Switzerland; and Lillet’s longtime caregiver, Angelica Gomez, who became like family.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Gentiva Hospice team and Pinebrook Pointe for the extraordinary care they showed Lilliet.
