MARCIA ZAREMBA

Marcia (nee Mueller) Zaremba passed away peacefully Friday, Aug. 11, 2023, and is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved son, Jason.

Marcia was a loving and outgoing person, a friend to perhaps thousands, and the best Mom anyone could ever have. She had a beautiful spirit to match her witty personality, and her sense of humor was unmatched. Marcia was an avid reader (understatement), and prided herself on reading the classics and suggesting books for others. Mom was the consummate role model, and cheerleader for so many, especially her kids and granddaughter. She always made sure everyone had whatever they needed.

Marcia grew up in Burlington, raising her kids in the same area, and was known as the coolest mom around. The house was always filled with friends and family, and Marcia rolled out the red carpet anytime the doorbell rang. She was the ultimate 50s “It” girl and was known as Marvelous Mar in college. After becoming a mom, Marcia became Mrs. Z. to everyone, then “Grandma Trouble” while a Study Hall Monitor at B.H.S., “Hamil” to her son-in-law and humorous counterpart Cory, and Ody or “Odes” (her favorite title) to her granddaughter Chloe. Marcia was also a fierce tennis fan, and cheered on her kids Jill and Jay throughout high school and college matches, and later helped them to achieve their dreams of becoming Professional Tennis Instructors. Whenever someone asked what her favorite hobby was, she always said “My kids of course!” But no role was more important to her than being “Grandma Ody.” She adored her granddaughter and forged lasting memories that will last a lifetime.

Marcia graduated from Burlington High School and loved being a social butterfly, cheerleader and drum majorette. After high school she attended Lawrence University in Appleton and UWM, where she adored being in a sorority and made lasting friendships. After college, she worked as a Medical Secretary for Oral & Maxillofacial Departments, as well as being the first secretary for the newly formed recreation department in Burlington known as B.A.R.C.E.D. at the time.

Marcia Ann is survived by her daughter Jill Dolores (Cory John) Militzer of Watertown; granddaughter Chloe Rose Militzer of Evanston, Illinois; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Marcia was preceded in death by her son Jason Zaremba; parents Henry and Dolores Mueller; sister Nancy Kauffman; niece Susan Kauffman; nephew Randy Kauffman Aunt Henrietta and Uncle Hank Bolda, and many other family members whom she is now reunited with on the Other Side.

We wish to thank the entire Watertown Marquardt Health Center and Commonheart Hospice Team for their care and compassion, especially Kathryn, Denise, Kimber, Lana, Angie, Megan, Lindsey, and Melissa. To all of the CNA/Nurses who are earth angels, Ashley, Allison, Jessica, Jasmine, Marie, Tia, Courtney, Marshall, Judy and many others we never had the chance to meet – no words can express the gratitude for all of you.

A private burial service will be scheduled at a later date.
