RUTH M. WIEMER

      Ruth M. Wiemer found peace following a five-year battle with Alzheimer’s. On Friday, Sept. 15, 2023, she was reunited with her two husbands Robert Hardy and John Wiemer who preceded her in death.

Ruth was born in Racine on Jan. 15, 1928, to Walter and Lucille (nee Jacob) Ochs. She grew up and was educated in Racine graduating from St. Catherine’s High School. On Sept. 13, 1947, in Racine she was united in marriage to Robert D. Hardy. Together they lived in Racine and East Troy. Robert preceded her in death on Sept. 18, 1973. Ruth then married John P. Wiemer on Oct. 18, 1975. Following their marriage, she joined John in Burlington. John preceded her in death on Jan. 6, 2005.

Ruth was a checker at IGA, Sentry Foods and Pick & Save. She also worked at the Coach Lamp Restaurant. She is a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Burlington. Ruth volunteered at Burlington Memorial Hospital, Harmony Respite Senior Communities and Meals on Wheels. She loved to travel, work on Jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, knitting and crocheting, fishing up north and taking gambling trips.

She is survived by her children, Kathleen (Michael) Kilpin, Robert (Mel) Hardy, Paul (Beth) Hardy, Mark Hardy and Gregg (Rosa) Hardy; her step-children, Julie (Glenn) Gebauer, Nick Wiemer and John (Julie) Wiemer; step-daughter-in-law Denise Wiemer; grandchildren, Matthew Hardy, Kelly (Brian) Rissky, Casey Kilpin, Adam (Amanda) Hardy, Andrew (Rachael) Hardy and Thomas (Brianna) Hardy; step grandchildren, Craig (Megan) Wiemer, Marcus (Jessica) Gebauer, Jenna (Eric) Worth, Ross (Jenni) Wiemer, Johnathon (Brittany) Wiemer, Lauren (Jesse) Wiemer, Nick (Katie) Wiemer, Ali Wiemer, Tyler Wiemer and Austin Wiemer; and 22 great grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by husbands Robert Hardy and John Wiemer; a stepson Robert “ Chunky” Wiemer; and by brothers Bob (Margaret) Ochs and Jim Ochs.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 22, 2023, at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery in East Troy. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Friday, Sept. 22 at the funeral home from noon until 1:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ruth’s name can be given to the Alzheimer’s Association or to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Burlington.
