Thomas A. Wendt passed away at his home on Saturday, July 15, 2023.
Tom was born on May 3, 1973 to James and Linda (nee Swanson) Wendt in Evanston, Illinois. He spent his earliest life between Evanston and Milwaukee before his family moved to Waterford in 1979. He was a graduate of Waterford Union High School and went on to receive his Bachelors Degree in Turf Grass Management from Penn State. He worked for Rivermoor Golf Course since high school, eventually becoming the Golf Course Superintendent. He also received his Bachelors Degree in Finance Management from UW-Milwaukee. He was later employed as the shop manager for Premier Power. Most recently, however, he was an equipment assembler for Prent Corporation.
Tom was an avid collector, focusing mainly on antiques and vintage items. He also enjoyed collecting tools, both old and new, always fascinated with specialty tools. He was forever trying to discern their uses. Tom was also the family genealogist, always asking questions about family, researching, and keeping records. He loved his family and particularly enjoyed time with his nephew and nieces.
Tom is survived by his parents; his brother Dan (Erin) Wendt; nephew Holden; nieces Ella and Josie; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life for Tom will be held on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023 from 2 until 5 p.m. at the Whitford Park Community Center, 625 S. First St., Waterford.
